Drift racer case study: "The difference is night and day."
As the owner/driver at James Moore Drifting, Lincolnshire-based James knows his way around the alternative avenues that motorsport has to offer. Precision driver skills and spectacular track manoeuvres are what drifters do best. There’s no doubt that the kind of skills James has on track ignites audience interest like no other sport right now.
Translating that excitement into a value offering that attracts brand sponsors, however, is where James struggled to make the connection. He explains: “My confidence with sponsorship was terrible. I was very cautious about going into sponsorship; I didn’t know whether a sponsor would even get back to me, or whether I was able to offer enough value to them”.
With past experience netting James only the occasional discount code or parts at cost – and certainly no funding deals – he decided to step outside his comfort zone and explore how Racing Mentor might be able to help.
